PROGRAMS

Every child is assessed and evaluated to determine his/her strengths and weaknesses. After that, each lesson is carefully planned to individualize instruction, to address specific needs and to build upon skills already mastered.

At Learning Bratz we offer such programs as:

Remedial Assistance (Tutoring) - this program is developed to work with children one-on-one or in small groups. Here students gain knowledge of the content, strengthen necessary skills and increase comrehension. This way, through modeling, guided and independent practice and assessments, students become strong, independent learners and thinkers. Remedial assistance is provided in all subject areas and grade levels K-12. 

Test Prep - the focus of this program is a heavy concentration on test taking skills and strategies. The main goal  is to prepare students for a variety of test formats, types of questions and answers, including multiple choice, short and long responses, essays, etc.)

Enrichment - this program is designed to build and increase knowledge in many areas and subjects, facilitate creativity, imagination, critical thinking, nurture talents and potentials in every child, grow intelligent, well-rounded individuals by exposing them to a variety of multisensory learning experiences and hands-on activities.

All programs are aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and reinforce Grade Level Curriculum.

PROGRAMS FOR YOUNG LEARNERS AGES 3-7

• Literature Circles (children are grouped by age)

This is a wonderful literature-based program, the goal of which is to actively engage children in the process of speaking, listening, reading, writing, creative thinking and meaningful discussion. Here young learners are exposed to the world of beautiful language, words, pictures and print, using a variety of literary genres, texts, formats, BIG books, poetry, role-play, songs, recital, vocabulary, and memory games.

• School Readiness Program

The goal of this program is to prepare children entering Kindergarten and First grade for a smooth transition. It instills good working habits and necessary basic learning skills for a successful first year of school and a positive, happy, fulfilling school experience for years to come.

• Music, Literature and Artistic Expression

This is a unique, highly hands-on program that nurtures  talents, builds creative thinking skills, imagination, individuality and expression through oral presentations, movement, drama, and visual arts. Children are exposed to classical music, learn about famous composers and artists, learn how to create, present and share their ideas and feelings in a variety of creative ways.

• Guided Reading

This program teaches children how to become great readers. It emphasizes fluency, syntax, semantics, and visual memory.

• Reading Comprehension

This program builds and reinforces vital reading comprehension skills, teaching children to make sense of reading, deepen their understanding and critical thinking skills, such as inferring, visualizing, predicting, self-monitoring, and many more.

• Spanish as a Foreign Language
• Russian as a Foreign Language

These language programs are offered to students of all ages, regardless of their proficiency level in either one of these languages and/or languages spoken at home. Reading, writing, listening and speaking are taught interactively by employing a variety of literature and visuals, modeling, meaningful interaction and discussions. Our Foreign Language teachers are professional, certified linguists with many years of teaching experience and credentials.
